Two build spots left this month. I take four at a time so nothing gets rushed.

About

I am the whole company. That is the point.

My name is Ty Burket. I build websites and run local marketing for small businesses out of Altoona, Pennsylvania. There is no team, no account management layer and nobody you will get handed off to, because the entire reason people hire me is that they wanted to stop being handed off.

The story

Why a one-person shop keeps beating the agency down the road.

I started building websites in 2019 for businesses around Blair County. Restaurants, contractors, accountants, storage companies. The kind of businesses where the owner answers the phone themselves and knows exactly how much a lost job costs.

What I kept running into was not that these owners had never hired a marketing company. Most of them had. It was that the experience had been almost identical every time. A polished pitch from somebody senior, a contract, and then months of dealing with somebody they had never met, on a platform they did not own, looking at reports that never once mentioned whether the phone was ringing more.

By the time they called me, they were not looking for better strategy. They were looking for somebody to just do the work and answer when they called.

Staying small is a deliberate choice, not a stage I am trying to grow out of. The moment I hire account managers, I become the thing my clients left. So instead the constraint is published on the front page: a set number of build slots each month, and one business per category per market on the local SEO side. When they are gone, they are gone.

I also work in-house at a local marketing software company, which is how I stay current on how local search actually behaves rather than how a blog post from 2021 says it behaves. The two feed each other.

How I work

Five things I will not budge on.

These are not values on a wall. Each one costs me money sometimes, which is how you know they are real.

01

Prices go on the website

Every number is published. Hiding pricing behind a discovery call is a technique for anchoring you before you know what the market rate is, and it wastes a week of your life. If my price does not work for you, you should find that out in thirty seconds.

02

You own everything

Your domain, your hosting, your website files, your Google profile, all in your name. If you ever leave, you hand nothing back and I keep nothing hostage. Agencies that own your assets are not partners, they are landlords.

03

One business per category, per market

I cannot honestly rank two roofers in the same town against each other, so I do not take both. This costs me real revenue every month and it is the only version of local SEO I can defend on a phone call.

04

Reports lead with the phone ringing

Calls, direction requests, form fills, first. Rankings are an input, not the product. A report that celebrates a keyword moving from position 14 to 11 while your calls stayed flat is a report designed to keep a retainer, not to inform you.

05

I will tell you when you should not hire me

Sometimes the honest answer is that you need two hours fixing your Google profile yourself, not a retainer. Sometimes it is that your problem is not marketing at all. I say it on the first call, and the free tools on this site exist so you can reach that conclusion without ever talking to me.

Fit

Who this works for, and who it does not.

Being clear about the second list saves us both a call.

Good fit

  • Local service businesses whose customers find them on Google
  • Owners who want to talk to the person doing the work
  • Businesses between roughly $200k and $5m in revenue
  • Anyone who has been burned by an agency and is wary
  • People who would rather have one thing done well than five done badly
  • Businesses ready to commit at least three months

Not a fit

  • Anyone who needs a guaranteed number one ranking in writing
  • National ecommerce brands, this is a local practice
  • Businesses wanting a full team on retainer, there is one of me
  • Projects that need to be live next week
  • Anyone whose competitor already claimed their category and market
  • People shopping purely on lowest price
